Audi and social networking


Audi has latched on to the social media revolution by using Facebook and TurnHere to get customers involved and aware of new projects.

The company is involved in the design challenge, “Youth Mobile 2030,” that calls for the design of a car for people who are not even born yet. Audi says this challenge looks to “the youth culture and how it relates to mobility, personal connections and social networking.” To promote their involment in this challenge, Audi joined forces with TurnHere (“a leading Internet video production and advertising company for businesses around the world”).

Audi’s Facebook page shows videos of the company’s design process, gives information about the ongoing challenge, and engages people by asking for feedback on what they would like to see in future cars.

This is a great example of a global brand reaching out to the masses in a new way. Social networking can allow a well-established company to reach a whole new audience by asking for feedback on an accessible level.
